Allen Animal Clinic COVID-19 (Corona Virus) Update

Dear Friends of Allen Animal Clinic,

We want to inform all of our pet owners that as of now that Allen Animal Clinic will remain open for scheduled appointments.  We are taking all the necessary precautions, as we do every day, to ensure a clean and sterile environment for our staff and patient families.  We will continue to monitor and follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) guidelines and mandates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. avma.org/coronavirus

We have always followed universal precautions for infection control including some of these important steps:  We wash our hands in between each patient that we treat. Every treatment surface, chair, and instrument is disinfected after every patient.  In addition, we disinfect all door handles, knobs and other public exposed surfaces after every patient.

If any of our staff members or patients have any flu or cold-like symptoms, we advise staff to stay home and patients to reschedule their appointments until symptoms have cleared.  You will not be charged for a cancelled appointment.

With that said, we have made some minor adjustments to our schedule and procedures:

  1. We will be closed on Saturday for all pet appointments. We will be available on Saturday for Large Animal Emergency Calls (Equine & Livestock).  All pet emergency calls should be directed to your local small animal emergency hospital.
  2. Monday-Friday all pets will be seen by appointment only. To help maintain social distance, when you pull into the Allen Animal Clinic parking lot, please contact us by phone and one of our technicians will take your pet into an exam room when available while you wait in your car.  A doctor will then communicate with you either in person or by phone about your pet’s situation and the recommended care necessary.  Afterward we will return your pet to your car.
  3. We are still available for all Farm Calls.

We realize that this is a challenging time for our country and we truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (972) 727-5151.

Thank you.

Welcome to Allen Animal Clinic

Large And Small Animal Veterinary Services for Collin County

Allen Animal Clinic has been providing large and small animal veterinary services to Allen, Texas and Collin County since 1972.  Although we have a small town feel, the doctors at Allen Animal Clinic practice progressive veterinary medicine with a personal touch on dogs, cats, livestock, horses, goats, llamas, alpacas and much more.

Animals From Large To Small

The doctors at Allen Animal Clinic all grew up working with and caring for their family animals, both large and small.  Today we practice animal husbandry on everything from dogs to cats, from horses to cattle and goats to llamas.  “Caring for all animals is in our DNA”, we are a progressive general mixed animal practice.

A Culture of Caring

Caring for animals as veterinarians and vet techs isn’t our job…it is our life.  Whether on the family ranch or farm in rural Texas or in the big city, this is the life that many of us have lived since we were children; but we not only love our pets, our culture of caring means we truly love on your pets too.  This is our life, and if you ask any of our doctors or assistants, they will tell you that they do lose sleep over the health of the patients.

This Patient, This Owner, This Day

Our veterinarians have lived by the same motto since the beginning: “this patient, this owner, this day”.  In other words, we evaluate every patient on their own merits and make decisions on treatment based on the owner’s wishes on the particular day we see them.
